At Richmond Park School, ICT (Information, Communication & Technology) is an important part of our school curriculum. We have embraced various technologies such as IPads, MacBooks and digital/video cameras to try to develop our children's ICT skills and to help them become independent learners.

Please click the tabs below to view some of the videos which we have made as a school, as well as the videos the children have created themselves. If a video is slightly distorted when streaming, please wait for the video to load further before watching it all.

Year 1 and 2

Years 1 and 2 have been learning about electricity and electrical circuits in their 'Electric Rainbow' topic this term. They've had opportunities to use actual bulbs, batteries, wires, etc to create their circuits. They then replicated these circuits and created some more detailed ones of their very own by using the 'Simple Circuits' app on the IPads. They also used 'Explain Everything' to demonstrate how their circuits worked. Please watch the video below to see what they've learned:

Nursery and Reception

The children have been studying the topic 'Pitter, Patter, Raindrops'. The video below shows some of their work and the fun they had within the topic.

Year 6

Years 5 and 6 have been studying 'The Blitz' as their topic this term. During their ICT lessons, they researched the key events from WW2 and created this animation below by using the 'Explain Everything' app on the IPad. They also incorporated key speeches from WW2, including famous speeches made by Neville Chamberlain and Winston Churchill.

Year 6 children have been developing their ICT skills by creating the following videos, using green screen technology and IMovie in their ICT lessons. They created every aspect of their reports after studying the 'Bend and Flow' topic back in class. Their reports focus on the Tsunami in Thailand back in 2004.

Year 5 Videos

We created this video to show what we've been learning about in our SEAL lessons on 'Going For Goals' this term:

Year 4 Videos

3/12/13 - Year 4 created this video in their ICT lessons as a part of their 'Gods and Gladiators' topic. They researched the key events from the Roman Empire, then re-created these in the form of this animation by using the 'Explain Everything' app on the iPads:

World Book Day 2013

C

We celebrated World Book Day in style again this year as children across the whole school dressed up as their favourite characters from books. We held a parade in the school hall for the children (and staff) to show each other what they dressed up as. As a special treat, we had a special guest appearance from the author Nicola Davies , who held various workshops with the children throughout the day. We even linked up with our friends at Tameside Primary School again through a live video link, as children from Year 2 in both schools performed for each other. Please click on our videos below to see how much fun we had.
