Years 5 and 6 were recently visited by a group of Welsh teachers who have just returned from Lesotho having taught in a number of schools there since January. The workshops supplemented the activities that have already been undertaken following the visit to Mokhotlong LEC School in Lesotho by Mr Evans and Mrs Davies in February.
The children were shown how to make footballs out of recycled carrier bags just like the Lesotho children and also re-enacted the work carried out in fields and the countryside by women with young babies strapped to them. They particularly enjoyed learning the traditional 'Gumboot Dance' and quickly picked up the steps to perform with much enthusiasm! Thanks to the visiting teachers for a very enjoyable and informative morning.
