Children in Years 5 and 6 recently took part in an anti-bullying workshop organised by Dr Mz Carmarthen Youth Project. A team of young people have researched the issue of bullying and have produced a resource pack to inform and educate young people on the issues and effects of bullying. The workshop assisted the pupils to look for signs of bullying and what to do if they are victims or witness instances of bullying behaviour.
The increased instances of cyber bullying was very well highlighted and the project was received in a very positive manner by the pupils. Hopefully, this will lead to decreased rates of bullying throughout their lives, in particular in the community, in schools and eventually the workplace.
'I learned that cyber bullying is the most common type of bullying. It was useful because I can now look out for cyber bullies and I know how to report them.'
