'I feel delighted about achieving the Active Marc Cymru Award. I feel that I helped the school achieve the award by encouraging children to take part in after-school clubs and by helping them enjoy different sports.'
Amber Lloyd - 2011/12 Bronze Young Ambassador
Active Marc Cymru is awarded to schools who, in the opinion of the assessors, demonstrate a commitment to developing quality Physical Education and School Sport for all children. Our application highlighted a significant number of strengths to achieve the required standard. Particular strengths of our application included:
- The P.E. Coordinator has applied for funding to create a networking group with 6 other schools from the cluster.
- Pupil voice and proactive response to the National Sport Wales Survey findings.
- Young Ambassador programme has been responsible for utilising the school yards to their full potential.
As a school, we are extremely proud to have achieved this award! This award recognises all the hard work which has gone in to developing Physical Education and School Sports across the school.
Our aim for the future is to continue and develop the Young Ambassador programme within the school, to ensure that the school competes to as high a standard as possible in all competitions and festivals, to continue to work alongside organisations such as Dragon Sport and SuperStars to deliver high quality teaching in Physical Education and to maintain and develop the many opportunities which we provide to all of our pupils to access a wide range of sporting experiences both in and out of school.
'I feel happy and grateful about achieving the Active Marc Award. I helped the school achieve this award by encouraging children to take part in different sports and by helping the teachers to take warm-ups and groups during our P.E lessons.'
